Snow tourist places are the favorites of many people around the world. In Latin America we can find different countries where we can have the possibility to enjoy these charming places.


Some have different activities that tourists can do, from incredible ski slopes to places where you can do trekking and climb for the most risky people.

Antillanca, Chile

The Antillanca tourist resort is located in the Puyehue National Park. This moves in the volcano called Casa Blanca and 98 km from the city of Osorno. During the winter season, Antillanca works as one of the main ski centers in southern Chile.


This place has the advantage that the hotel infrastructure is located near the ski fields. The characteristics of this terrain make it the ideal place to practice off-piste skiing. Additionally, this snow tourist resort allows the practice of activities like trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, visiting volcanic caves and others.

Mexiquillo, México

Mexiquillo is the perfect place for those tourists who love snow and winter landscapes. It is located in Durango, specifically in the Pueblo Nuevo region. The Mexiquillo natural park is considered one of the most visited places, here you can do activities like mountain biking, rappelling, hiking, among others.


During winter, the experience provided by this place is unique mainly because it allows us to see the snow-covered forest. We remind you that, if you visit this place in winter, do not forget to wear warm clothes and follow the recommendations of the park staff. San Joaquín, Brazil

This city is famous for being the coldest in Brazil. It is located in the hills of Santa Catarina 194 kilometers away from the capital of Florianópolis. On many occasions the weather forecast indicates possibilities of snow in this region, which makes it a place that attracts many tourists due to its weather.


In this place not always snow and even when it happen, the snowfall is not so deep. However, the small town is covered by a small white blanket and it is possible to build a snowmen especially in the months of June, July and August.

El Águila, Venezuela

Collado del Cóndor or also called Pico El Aguila is a place that is chosen by a lot of tourists because it allows them to enjoy the landscape, the cold, the mist and the snow. Here, we can find many people selling wool products and candys. There is also a restaurant where you can drink hot chocolate, buy coats, gloves, among others.


It has a temperature of approximately 5 degrees and it should be noted that between the months of June and September is where the snowy seasons occur. This place can be accessed by walking where at the top we can find a chapel in honor of the Virgin of Coromoto, patron saint of Venezuela.

Chacaltaya, Bolivia

The snowy Chacaltaya is located 36 km from the city of La Paz. Previously, snow sports were carried out there, but today it is a very important place to visit due to the access to its top for which you will not need any technique.


Chacaltayaera was considered the highest ski slope in the world, it is 1 km long and currently has a cabin where a path begins that leads to the top of the snowy. From this top we can see a beautiful panoramic view of the Andean landscape.

Bariloche, Argentina

Bariloche is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Argentina during the months of July to October. Here, you can do some activities like skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, sleigh rides, among others. This snow-filled place has activities for people who are starting in winter sports and also for the most experienced.

The soft slopes provide the ideal space to practice skiing, and here you can find the best instructors and first-rate equipment to enhance your learning experience. For experts, there are more challenging slopes with heights of 2,100 meters above sea level and also off-piste tours around unique environments.


Snowboarding can’t be absent here, this hill has an area specially created for people who dare to practice this sport with all the safety regulations included.

Chimborazo, Ecuador

The Chimborazo volcano is known worldwide for being the closest point to the sun measured from the center of the Earth. Normally this landscape is painted of white and the snow can be seen from the moment we arrive at the first refuge. When there are colder days you can see the snow from the entrance to the refuge.


The coldest days are the ones that attract the greatest number of visitors who come to this place to take the best pictures and play with the snow. The top of Chimborazo is 6263 meters above sea level.


We can go to this tourist place by vehicle to the first refuge and by bus to the entrance of the reserve. It is recommended to drive very carefully during snowfall because the ice on the roads can be slippery.
