Snyder Cut is a version of Justice League from 2017 that was created from the perspective of this director. This version of Snyder is based on the DC Comics superhero team and runs for four hours. Snyder in 2017 abandoned production and today, a couple of years later, the original vision that he had will be known before changes were made, after this, Joss Whedon assumed his functions.
In 2017 there was a theatrical premiere of Zack Snyder’s Justice where the team consisted of Cyborg, Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman. In this version we can see how all these superheroes try to save the world from Steppenwolf and his entire army.
The Justice League movie that was released in theaters went through many difficulties starting with the changes that had to be made in the scripts, in addition, Snyder’s unexpected resignation during post-production also generated a bit of controversy. When Whedon took over, some of the changes he made were to cut the run time to 120 minutes and add more humor with a light tone.
However, after the release, this film received a lot of reviews, most of them bad, because it was a commercial failure and Warner Bros decided to reevaluate some important points regarding the future of the DCEU.
On the other hand, before Synder resigned, some problems began to arise regarding the production of the film and this led to many fans expressing more fidelity to the vision that he had. Thanks to this, a long time ago, the cast members, the true fans and the entire crew, requested that this version be released and named it the Snyder Cut.
When this idea began, Warner Bros was not convinced or had plans to launch this version and at that time, the celebrities of the film industry were clear that the premiere of this cut was going to be unlikely, even many people believed that, if it they did, this was going to be impractical for the entire company. Nonetheless, fans didn’t give up and for many years stuck with the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.
Finally, in February 2020, Warner Bros changed its mind and in May, Snyder announced that his version was going to be released through HBO Max. This project had a cost of 70 million dollars and this money was used to change and add some editions, additional filming, visual effects, musical scores, among others.
Snyder cut was released this March 18, 2021 in an excellent digital format and although it has only been released for a short time, it has already received a large number of positive reviews and is considered a better version than the 2017 version.

Movies to watch before Snyder cut
Man of Steel

One of the first Zack Snyder films to include classic characters is Man of Steel. This has been considered one of the worst among all, but if you have not seen it, it is essential that you do so because it will give you a clear and complete idea of what Snyder intends to do with the heroes of DC. In Man of Steel, Snyder shows us a dramatic origin of Superman where we can see that this hero is not the same person in love with the human race and full of goodness that we knew.
What we can watch here is an alien full of evil who is willing to do anything to make his idea of justice prevail over any situation. Man of Steel is a film of much controversy, but it serves to understand the darkness of the heroes.
Batman vs Superman

This film is another one that Snyder directed and one that could have reached higher levels if certain things that had been established previously had been respected, for example, including Brainiac as a common enemy among all. During the film, the confrontation between Batman and Superman was encouraged by the great whims that a megalomaniac had. Although it could have been better, the action sequences blew us away.
Watchmen

In chronological order, after the films mentioned above, we recommend watching Watchman, another Zack Snyder film. Overall, this doesn’t have much to do with his latest production, but it’s a perfect way to see how Snyder understands the DC universe, not including subtlety and humorless. In watchmen, this director interprets the original comic in a completely different way, this without a doubt, is something interesting and that will help you understand the vision that Snyder has about Superman.
Wonder Woman

During Snyder’s tenure as a director, Wonder Woman and Superman were the only heroes to have had their own movies. Wonder Woman is a movie full of adventures where we can see how they have added a vintage touch and its climax is a bit confusing. Despite this, the action sequences are quite entertaining and Gadot exudes charisma.
Suicide Squad

First of all, it must be made clear that the 2016 version of Suicide Squad is one of the weakest films and with some negative comments from DC, however, Snyder is one of the ones he likes the most and for this reason he recovered the Jared Leto’s Joker to create a nightmare format. On the other hand, David Ayer loves the versions that Snyder has created and if the villain stories had included antiheroes, the DC universe would have been constructed differently.
Superman & Lois

This movie is regarded as a vision of the DC hero that has complemented Snyder’s vision. Despite the fact that they are two different Superman, it is the perfect proof that this character is a completely blank canvas that can be shaped according to the interests of each person and can go in any direction.
The Dark Knight

Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies are, without a doubt, one of the most influential in modern cinema. Even in some Marvel films you can clearly see some traces of the Batman films, such as the portrait of the nemesis, the way the action unfolds, the vision of the hero, among others. In addition, Zack Snyder is one of Nolan’s most advantageous students and for this reason, without the airs of The Dark Knight, it would be impossible to understand the latest Snyder’s Justice League.
